If you spend the night here, you are quite likely to find chooks wandering around your site in the morning.

After the Telegraph Station ceased its role as a repeater station, a linesman who repaired any breakdowns in the telphone line lived in the building for years. His name was Tom Roberts and he was known as the "Barrow Creek Mayor". Now deceased, a corner of the hotel is devoted to his memory and his story is fascinating.
