LONGREACH WATERHOLE

Longreach Waterhole, 12 km west of town, is small picturesque lake which expands seasonaly.

It is a very peaceful setting with gas BBQs and unpowered campsites.

Migratory birds frequent the area. Depending on the time of year you visit, determines what birds you are likely to see there.

Longreach Waterhole is a favourite spot with locals.

It is not signposted.

The turnoff is on the left, on the outskirts of Elliott, travelling north.

The road is unsealed and is maintained.
