LITCHFIELD NATIONAL PARK

Litchfield’s stunning landscape has been shaped by water and time and is culturally rich and steeped in history. It’s about 100 kms from Darwin. There is much to see and do including:

Magnetic termite mounds – facing north and south, it's amazing these little creatures construct such big houses.

Lost City  Spectacular rock formations, resembling long forgotton ruins. Accessible by 2wd in dry season.

Wangi Falls is one of Litchfield’s most popular and easily accessible attractions. There is a large pool, great for swimming.
In the wet season, the waterfalls are spectacular – tons of water thunders over the top and the pool is closed for swimming. Wangi Falls Walk o the top of the falls offers a great photo opportunity – starts at the pool, approx 1.6km return, (about 1 hour).

Florence Falls - Spectacular double waterfall amid monsoon forest cascades into a swimming hole. The lookout has panoramic views.

Buley Rockhole is a series of waterfalls and rock-holes, where you can swim and relax. Open year round. Florence Creek Walk starts at Buley Rockhole and is approx 3kms one way, (1.5 hrs).

Tolmer Falls, one of the most spectacular falls, cascades over two high escarpments into a deep plunge pool. No swimming permitted. The bottom of the Falls is home to several colonies of rare Ghost Bats and Orange Horseshoe Bats. Open year round.
