BUTTERFLY GORGE CLIMB

A beautiful day.
Spectacular scenery.
A huge cliff-face
A challenge

Imagine the challenges Jason and his friends faced and the exhilaration they felt after having achieved climbing to the top and looking at the view!

Hayes creek has several spectacular sites.
And there are climbing sites at Robin Falls.
Umbrawarra Gorge, just out of Pine Creek has three climbing sites.

*Note: Climbing is NOT permitted in National Parks and there are severe penalties for breaking this rule.

Whilst Rock Climbing is not for the faint-hearted, it is an exhilarating adventure sport. You are pitting your will and experience against the elements.

Experienced climbers have the skills and use their ropes, helmets and other mechanisms to climb safely. You are responsible for your own safety. Climbing should not be done without training.

Climbing in the Northern Territory can be done all year round; however climbing during the wet season can be a little uncomfortable due to the heat, humidity and unpredictable downpours. During the Dry season you can be assured of clear skies almost every day. When climbing in the Top End, taking water with you is a must.
