WAVE LAGOON

Darwin's Wave Lagoon is designed to give the experience of being in the ocean, but in the safety of a controlled environment. There is a large wave lagoon with 8 different wave cycles, and a smaller toddler pool.
The lagoon is a safe, stinger and crocodile free area and lifeguards watch over patrons.

Waves up to 1.7 metres set the scene for fantastic fun. The lagoon is 2 metres at its deepest end grading to zero at the shore line. Waves run on a 20 minute long cycle with a 10 minute break in between.

Colourful umbrellas and lounges are dotted about. The lagoon is surrounded by lawns and shady trees, ideal for a picnic.
A kiosk is on site.
Some tubes and boogie boards provided. Visitors may bring their own, subject to inspection. No surf boards allowed.

Between October and May wet season storms can pose a danger. Lagoons will be evacuated if lightning is close by and will be re-opened once the storm has receded.
