AILERON ROADHOUSE
Best Hotel & Roadhouse on the Track
Aileron was established in 1936 and was a welcome stop for travellers heading up of down the track. The tradition continues.
Aileron is in Anmatjere Country. The first thing you notice in Aileron is the towering figure of an Aboriginal man overlooking the settlement and an Aboriginal woman with child to the right. The works are by talented local sculpter Mark Egan.
The man stands at 17 metre tall and weighs 8 tonne. It was erected in December 2005. The woman and child were erected in 2008 with the addition of the goanna a few months later.
