SIMPSONS GAP (Tyurretye)

 

Just past the entrance gate you will find the National Parks Visitor Information Centre. There are displays on the area and information on walks in the park. 
Simpsons Gap is a further 6 kms.

Walking - There are numerous walking trails, well marked with directional signs.

Ghost Gum Walk - 15 minutes return. Starting at the Visitor Centre, this walk has many native plants of the area including an ancient Ghost Gum.

Cassia Hill - 1.5 kms, 1 hour return.
Gives excellent elevated views of the range and Simpsons Gap area. The walk illustrates local plants and a self-guided walk sheet is available.

Woodland Trail - 17 kms return To Bond Gap, a return distance of 17 kms. The Gap has a narrow cleft with icy cold water (seasonal). This walk has Mulga woodland.

Larapinta Trail - Simpson Gap is part of the Trail where you can walk Sections 1 or 2.

Picnicking - There are shady picnic areas with free gas BBQs, near Simpsons Gap and the Visitor Information Centre.

Wildlife - There are the Black-footed Rock Wallabies, prolific birdlife, several different species of frogs and interesting little characters like the small legless lizard.
