PATRITTI WINES
Visit Patritti Winery in Dover Gardens, one of only a few remaining wineries in metropolitan Adelaide.
Patritti makes an impressive range of table, dessert and sparkling wines and brandy for domestic and export markets as well as a popular range of sparkling and still non alcoholic fruit juices and de-alcoholised wines. Recent vintages have seen 1,5000,000 litres of high quality wines and brandy produced annually. It's a family run, busy multifaceted winery employing around 20 people during vintage.
Early Days
Patritti Winery had its beginning in the late 1920s. Founder Giovanni Patritti migrated from Piedmont, a famous wine area in northern Italy. He arrived in South Australia in 1925. After working hard at several jobs he was able to buy land at Dover Gardens, in the Marion area. He planted grapes and produced wine from a small shed.
Since then the winery has grown. Traditional wine making methods, coupled with modern technology has seen the family business thrive with master winemaker James Mungall employing around 20 people during vintage.
These days the fruit mostly comes from the Patritti Vineyard at Blewitt Springs, and other McLaren Vale and Barossa vineyards.
