Yalata Roadhouse on the Eyre Highway provides services for travellers. The Yalata Community is situated a short distance away. The Yalata Reserve was proclaimed an Indigenous Protected Area (IPA) in 1996. Permits are required for fishing or camping.
Anagu Rangers manage the natural resources with traditional and modern techniques. The Land Management Unit maintain several campsites.
They also conduct coastal patrols on behalf of the Great Australian Bight Authority inspecting beaches and reporting illegal vessel entry.
