Mount Barker is one of the earliest WA settlements and there are a number of interesting heritage buildings. Once apple growing country, it is now an important wine producing area. A special attraction is the world’s only complete collection of Banksias.
The Poronurup Range is just 15 minutes away. Rugged granite peaks tower over forests of kauri trees. The diverse 2,400ha national park supports a wealth of flora and fauna. Walking tracks take in Balancing Rock and scenic views.
