PERLUBIE SPORTS DAY  Date: 01/01/2008
Family Fun Day at Perlubie Beach. Events for all ages including athletic, swimming and high jump events; Iron Guts competition; Team events including the plank race, tug-of-war and volley ball. For the under sixes there is the Ideal Beach Girl and Mr Muscles Competition. Food and drink stalls and bar facilities. A bus leaves from the Streaky Bay Foreshore Tourist Park and the Streaky Bay Hotel at regular intervals. Gates open at 11.00am Date 4/4/08

From 4.00pm onwards on the Foreshore Lawns opposite hotel. Fun and activities for the family - rides and side-show, ironman and ironwoman competitions, Bay Sheffield 100m Run, Tug-o-War, childrens races. Food stalls and live band.

'SNAPSHOT' EXHIBITION Start Date: 20/04/2007   End Date: 27/05/2007
Large scale exhibition that delves into contemporary painting in South Australia in post-contemporary times. It attempts to define our post-modern culture  through the lens of painting and its techniques, and includes works of art that take painting as their point of reference.

'BUNYIPS' EXHIBITION Start Date: 26/07/2007   End Date: 13/09/2007
National Library of Australia Touring Exhibition displaying the folklore, art and literature inspired by this unique Australian legend. Most of us are familiar with the term "bunyip" but are not aware of the serious scientific debate in 19th century Australia which searched for proof of the creature's existence. This exhibition aims to put Australian's back in touch with this cultural cross-over through a stimulating and entertaining look at the bunyip from the Dreaming to today.

NEW YEARS EVE FIREWORKS DISPLAY  Date: 31/12/2007
Starting at 7.00pm on the Foreshore Lawns, near Doctors Beach. One of the most spectacular fireworks displays outside of Adelaide. Bring along your picnic.
Free drinks and lollies for the children. Fireworks commence after dark.
