Welcome to

Mount Dare

in the Witjira National Park

Mount Dare is the small settlement in the remote Witjira National Park which adjoins the north Simpson Desert. Mount Dare was a cattlestation and now forms part of the Witjira National Park.

The park includes the Dalhousie mound springs, the Finke River floodplains and huge tracts of gibber country and harsh stony plains. The park is jointly managed by the Irrwanyere Aboriginal Corporation and the Department of Environment and Conservation. A Desert Park Pass is required for accessing the park.
