On the 19th of February each year the Commemoration Ceremony is held at the Cenotaph on the Esplanade at Darwin. This was the day in 1942 when Darwin was bombed, the first of many attacks and the first time Australia was under fire by enemy forces. Darwin citizens and guests remember those who lost their lives and those who served. The Ceremony includes speeches, wreath laying, a re-enactment and musical items. All welcome    70th Anniversary

The Memorial Wall commemorates Allied personnel who died from enemy attack in WWII in the Northern Territory, Queensland and Western Australia. It was opened on 18th February 2013 by the then Chief Minister the Honourable Terry Mills, with speaker WWII veteran Mr Brian Winspear AM.
The Memorial Wall is now open as part of Museum entry.
