FISHING NEWS

COWELL
Jetty is fishing has been exceptionally quiet except for a few crabs. Boats are doing very well on snapper.
Silvers are on most local beaches.

PORT NEILL
Once again snapper fishing has been very good both for boaties inshore and offshore; snapper have also come from the rocks south of the town.
Most beaches have a few silvers or yellow fin whiting and the jetty has squid and tommies.

TUMBY BAY
The hospital grounds are definitely worth a try for some King George whiting, and out at the Group whiting have been harder to find in numbers but there are medium size snook, tommies and red mullet to top up the catch.
Tumby jetty has been very quiet with tommies scarce and only a few snook around.
In the marina mullet are there on day and absent the next.
At second creek, salmon trout is basically the sole catch and in Peake Bay there are a few flathead and whiting plus good numbers of trevally.
