The museum is centred around the Mount Laura Homestead built in 1922 on the then sheep station. Exhibits showcasing the history of Whyalla include Gay Street Cottage, Whyalla’s first police lockup, Barber Horse Drawn Vehicle Shed, Blacksmith Shop, Telecommunications Museum, Steam Train and Ore Truck.
Open 10-noon weekdays and 2-4 Sundays. Small entrance fee.
