Enjoy sweeping views overlooking the parklands and the city. The statue commemorates Colonel William Light, the first surveyor-general of Adelaide. He chose the site and laid out the city in a grid like pattern with wide streets, open space squares and surrounded by Park Lands. Governor Hindmarsh South Australia's first governor, a naval man, thought the city should be on the sea. His faction caused disention.

A ride on Pop-eye is a MUST when visiting Adelaide   Enjoy River Torrens' tranquility and views of the City.
